Vendor emulator setup instructions are available. A custom Traverse Town one-click launcher has not been built, and no emulator/game was executed for this website update.

Start here

  1. Use the official mGBA download page below and select a current Windows installer or portable archive.
  2. Install the vendor package or extract the portable archive, then open mGBA.
  3. Open your own .gba file with mGBA’s File menu. Configure keyboard or controller controls in its settings.
  4. Use the game’s regular save function. Keep your game and save files in a writable personal folder, rather than Program Files.

Keep your saves

Close mGBA before making a backup copy of your game save files from the configured save location. Keep ordinary game saves as well as any emulator-specific save states. Before moving folders or changing emulator versions, retain a separate backup.

The vendor FAQ explains writable folders and Windows save-location issues. This guide does not claim save compatibility with Re:Chain of Memories, which is a different remake.

Game assets: 48 native KH1/KHII mesh representations, 46 BBS blade-and-hilt appearances with chains omitted, 17 native HD Re:CoM cards, 41 native Nintendo DS choices and 22 imported game-art choices. Two earlier imported choices now use verified native DS art without changing their selected IDs. Boss Weapons includes seven additional native Days designs and two shared Keyblade appearances. Eight native cursors use a thin visibility outline without recoloring the original pixels. Each choice retains its source edition. Game art belongs to its respective rights holders.
