Re:coded

Two ways to set up your own DS game with Melon Mix.

Use it on
Windows desktop
Before you start
Your own uncompressed .nds game file. The launcher needs Windows with .NET Framework. Internet is needed to download the separate emulator.
Current status
The launcher is an unsigned setup preview. Actual installation, gameplay and real save handling still need testing.

Start here

  1. Choose the launcher route below for the Traverse Town helper, or the manual route for the original Melon Mix download.
  2. Your game file is required for either route. Neither download provides the game.

Route 1: launcher + guided setup

This download contains the Traverse Town launcher and its source. It downloads Melon Mix separately after you review and confirm setup.

Download Windows launcher + source
  1. Extract the entire ZIP to a folder and open TraverseTownDSLauncher.exe.
  2. Choose Set up Melon Mix. Review the official download and destination, then confirm. If it is already installed, choose your existing MelonMix.exe instead.
  3. Select your own .nds file and choose Play. Set up controls and graphics in Melon Mix.

Route 2: Melon Mix only

Use the official emulator directly if you prefer to manage installation yourself. The Traverse Town launcher is optional.

Open official emulator download and steps
  1. On the official release page, choose the Windows download and extract its complete ZIP.
  2. Follow its Windows first-install guide to put your own game in the roms folder with the required Days or Re:coded filename.
  3. Use the supplied game launcher and configure controls in Melon Mix. Keep its accompanying files and notices together.

Saves

The helper is designed to keep separate game profiles and make backups. Actual save handling remains untested. Close Melon Mix before using Import .sav or Export .sav. Browser and desktop save compatibility is not established.

Game assets: 48 native KH1/KHII mesh representations, 46 BBS blade-and-hilt appearances with chains omitted, 17 native HD Re:CoM cards, 41 native Nintendo DS choices and 22 imported game-art choices. Two earlier imported choices now use verified native DS art without changing their selected IDs. Boss Weapons includes seven additional native Days designs and two shared Keyblade appearances. Eight native cursors use a thin visibility outline without recoloring the original pixels. Each choice retains its source edition. Game art belongs to its respective rights holders.
