KH Mod Workshop

Create and inspect KH1 seeds and mods, with a staged testing and packaging workflow.

Build, inspect and keep track of mods

The Workshop brings Randomizer Studio, Mod Manager, asset inspection and Test Lab into one desktop application. KH1 Final Mix on Steam is the current implemented target; the broader franchise dashboard does not imply working adapters for every game.

What is implemented

The source supports installed upstream solo seed generation and import, limited-pool item-location seeds, mod folder/ZIP discovery, seed history and keyblade stat editing. Reviewed seed files retain their metadata and original payloads.

Available offline tool: Seed ZIP Inspector

Inspect an existing player seed ZIP without extracting or executing its contents. The tool shows supplied metadata, placements, archive hash and external deployment requirements. It does not generate, install or validate a playable seed; structural recognition does not prove origin, beatability or game compatibility. Windows and an existing Python 3.12 with Tk are required.

Portable developer preview

The Windows preview includes the Workshop interface, offline tools and corresponding project source. It requires an existing Python 3.12 with Tk; upstream generation and game-runtime tooling are separate prerequisites. Clean extracted interface and owned-process checks passed. These are software checks, not live-game validation. It is not a working game cheat or playable randomizer release.

Experimental runtime work

A separate stock host passed a 243-record synthetic grant/readback/restore path, and the candidate passed its software regressions. These checks used an owned test process. Actual game scene admission and activation remain blocked pending runtime evidence.

What still needs a real play test

Successful seed generation or memory-record comparison is not proof of pickup delivery or full-game progression. Cross-game conversion, map/AI editors and multiplayer remain research or plans. The portable developer preview and offline Seed ZIP Inspector are available below; game activation and gameplay remain unavailable.
